Plant Lifecycles

Plant lifecycles 
A short classroom introduction into plants including their parts and functions. In the forest, through a variety of activities, children will explore the life cycle of plants including photosynthesis, use keys to identify common tree species and consider the importance of plants in relation to the climate and ecological emergency. Depending on the season, there will be lots of examples of seeds, germination or flowers to investigate.

  • to name and understand the different stages of plant life cycles including germination, pollination, seed formation and dispersal 
  • to understand that flowering plants reproduce
  • consider the importance of trees in relation to the climate and ecological emergency
